Comparison of the Dispersion Model in Rodos-lx and Mm5-v3.7-flexpart(v6.2). a Case Study for the Nuclear Power Plant of Almaraz

چکیده
Dispersion has been calculated for a fictitious scenario of an accidental Cs release in a nuclear power plant in Almaraz, Spain, with the Real-time On-line De-cisiOn Support system for nuclear emergencies, RODOS, and the FLEXPART lagrangian particle dispersion model coupled with the PSU/NCAR Mesoscale Model, MM5-V3.7-Flexpart (V6.2). Results show differences in the evolution of the radioactive plume and its spreading through the valley.

A mesoscale model (MM5), a dispersive Langrangian particle model (FLEXPART), and intensive meteorological and COrrelation SPECtrometer (COSPEC) measurements from a field campaign are used to examine the advection and turbulent diffusion patterns associated with interactions and forcings between topography, synoptic atmospheric flows and thermally-driven circulations. This study describes the at...

In the present work WRF model is used to generate meteorological fields for the HYSPLIT dispersion model. Sensitivity and validation of the WRF model, is conducted by utilizing different combinations of physical parameterization schemes. For this purpose, eight different configurations are examined. Assessment of the predictions of the WRF model is carried out by computing the statistical param...

متن کاملAssessment of atmospheric dispersion from ANPP hypothetical accident based on Fukushima accident by HYSPLIT model
The atmospheric dispersion of Materials is one of the most important ways of spreading contamination of a NPP accident. In this study, the particle paths were calculated by HYSPLIT model (both pressure and AGL form of trajectory) horizontally and vertically at 0 and 1.5 meters above ground level during 15-day periods for 23& 24 November 2006 start times. Then, the releases values of Fukushima a...

Released radioactive materials from a nuclear power plant due to an accident can be transported to far regions by wind. Some models are available to predict the dispersion. This article reports some parts of the results of a research in which using one of the models, named HYSPLIT, to predict the dispersion of some isotopes of iodine and cesium released from ten nuclear power plant to the atmos...
